Celebrating 130 Years at Grace Church

2008 - 2009 Season Program Schedule

The purpose of The Fortnightly of Grace Church is to help women flourish spiritually, morally and intellectually; coupled with an on-going dedication to helping others grow. Thus, our goal is to broaden women's interests in the arts, education and history, and help to make them aware of issues facing our local and state communities. To stimulate these interests and to achieve our goal, we have made every effort to provide meaningful and interesting programs for the coming season. Listed below is the 2008/2009 program schedule.

Friday, October 17, 2008 “Growing Up in Colonial Africa” Presented by Roy W. Pilcher, Co-President of Rutland County Audubon Society

Friday, November 21, 2008 “Memoirs of Rutland” Presented by Arthur Crowley, Member of Grace Congregational UCC

Thursday, December 11, 2008 “A Renaissance Christmas with Rip and Friends” presented by Rip Jackson, Minister of Music, Grace Congregational UCC

Friday, March 20, 2009 “The Healing Touch: Grace, Harmony, Peace and Love” Presented by Laurie Wright, Member of Grace Congregational UCC

Friday, April 17, 2009 “At the Console with John” Presented by John Stager, member of Grace Congregational UCC

Friday, May, 15 2009 “Fete Day Celebration” Luncheon followed by a program, The Fortnightly celebrates 130 years at Grace Congregational UCC

All programs will begin at 2:00 PM (with the exception of Fete Day which will commence at 12:30 PM) and will take place in the Church Parlor or Sanctuary unless otherwise noted. We welcome all women to these programs . Members may invite guests.

Friday, October 19, 2007 “At the Keyboard with Sarah” Presented by Sarah Lenfest, member of Grace Congregational UCC.

Friday, November 16, 2007 “Creativity in Art” Presented by Peter Cooper, member of Grace Congregational UCC.

Friday, December 21, 2007 “Yuletide Melodies” Presented by The Spoon Mt. Singers, under the direction of Susan and Robert Lloyd.

Friday, March 14, 2008 “The Story Tellers” Presented by Audrey Kerns, member, and Carole McClure, friend, of Grace Congregational UCC.

Friday, April 18, 2008 “I Have Doctored Myself as Well as I Could” Presented by Historians Linda Peavy and Ursula Smith of the Vermont Humanities Council.

Thursday, May 15, 2008 “Fete Day Celebration” Luncheon followed by a program, “And All That Jazz” (THURSDAY) Presented by The Rutland High School Jazz Band---under the direction of Brent Barnett.
