TABLE OF ABUNDANCE

If you are a gardener and would be willing to share some of your harvest with friends at Grace, you are invited to bring produce or flowers each Sunday morning and add them to the “Table of Abundance” during Fellowship Time. The produce and flowers will then be available for anyone who would like them with any produce left being taken to The Community Cupboard. Although there will be no cost for the produce, anyone who would like to make a contribution is welcome to do so and money received will be donated to The Community Cupboard.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Please join an enthused group of folks who have begun a Prayer Shawl Ministry at Grace Church. We will meet again on Wednesday, July 14 at 9:30 AM. We are looking for more interested folks who like to knit to join with us. If there is enough interest we will start an evening group in September. A prayer shawl is a thoughtful way of reaching out to those in need of comfort and support. The group is open to women and men , knitters, and those who want to learn to knit. Please join us on the 14 th or call one of us if you would like a time to gather in the evening. For more information you can contact Joan Sonneborn, Marie Gosinski, Linda Kulas or Marty Barclay.

Knitting Klatsch

Thank you to everyone who took a box of squares to mail to South Africa. The Knit a Square goal for 2010 is 105,000 squares. This is how they plan to use the squares:

12 for a baby blanket
24 for a small blanket for a one to three year old
35 for a medium, for 4 - 7 year olds
40 for a large for 8 - 15 year olds

So far this year we have sent 478 squares with more ready to be shipped.

The Knitting Klatsch is busy making vests, and sweaters as well as squares for the KAS project. If you would like to knit for this special ministry, look for the "Knitting Klatsch" folder on the information table at church for the patterns. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9:30 AM in the Church Parlor. Please come and join us. If you have any questions contact Marie Gosinski.

Our next Listening for God Book Discussion will take place on Thursday, June 17, at 7 PM in the Parlor at Grace Church. We will discuss Little Bee by Chris Cleave . Books are available on Sunday mornings or through the Church Office for $10. Any questions, see Tracy Weatherhogg. All are welcome!

Crafty People Take Notice!

After our successful Craft Fair last year, we will do it again this year on November 20, 2010. We hope to include all Grace Church members in this large scale event. We are looking for people who would like to be part of the leadership of this project, as well as folks who are willing to donate a craft or food item. Some suggestions for the Craft Fair include homemade jams, jellies, pickles, canned veggies, knitted items, woodworking items, quilted, woven, and hand-sewn items, and much more. If each person at Grace Church contributed one item, we would have a successful event. Please be thinking about what you might be able to do to help support Grace Church and its mission work in this way! If you have any questions, or would like to join the leadership team of this project, please contact Marty Barclay or Tracy Weatherhogg at 775.4301 (tracy@gracechurchvt.org).
