Rip Jackson
Minister of Music
Rip Jackson, from Rutland, Vermont is a dynamic conductor, singer and keyboard player who specializes in baroque repertoire and performance practice. After attending a performing arts high school where he specialized in dance and choreography, he went on to study piano and organ at Florida State University and Emory University. From 1996-2000 as a doctoral candidate in Historical Performance Practice at Case Western Reserve University he conducted the CWRU Baroque Orchestra as well as several choirs. Since 2000 he has been in Rutland where he has greatly enlivened the musical scene as Minister of Music at Grace Congregational Church and Director of the large Rutland Area Chorus and Orchestra, as well as teaching private students in voice, organ, harpsichord and piano. Mr. Jackson, a musical theatre and choral director, has directed fully-staged productions of Godspell, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas Bach’s Mass in A Major, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass and Mozart’s Requiem among many others.
